Lotus Central Fantasy F1 is sponsored by Elise Shop

It's easy to play, just select your drivers and teams from the pools below, then select a joker round completing our online form to enter!

This is the sixth year we've run a competition on these lines using pools and they tend to make it easier for everyone to enter, even those who don't follow F1 heavily. The competition over the years hasn't changed but there are two changes this year:-

* Lotus bonus - as this is a Lotus site we've created one new pool that contains the two Lotus F1 drivers so everyone will have one of them in their team. This pool unlike the other driver ones is independent of the team pools so you can still choose Lotus as a team as well.

* Team changes - to make it easier for everyone we've decided not to allow changes this year. If your driver or team misses a round for any reason the replacement team or driver will score your points.

The Prizes:-

Each round winner will receive a £25 gift voucher to spend with either Elise Shop or Lotus on Track, the choice will be yours! If there is a tie for the round the prize will be shared equally between all winners. Only one voucher per entrant, in the event that your team wins more than one round the next highest scorer who has NOT won a previous round will receive the prize. This ensures that 19 different people will win a gift voucher during the season, in the 2009 competition we had a different winner for each round automatically so the system worked well.

The overall winner will receive a €500 voucher to spend with Elise Shop or Lotus on Track your choice! (terms and conditions apply)

In addition everyone entered by 7th March 2010 will have the chance to win one of 5 pairs of tickets to watch a round of their choice of the Lotus on Track Elise Trophy in 2010, including World Touring Cars, Formula 2, DTM German Touring Cars or the Lotus Festival. Winners will be picked out of hat on the Elise Trophy pre-season shakedown at Brands Hatch on 8th March.

How Points are Scored:-

In a change to previous years we're going to adopt the new F1 points system - 25 - 18 - 15 - 12 - 10 - 8 - 6 - 4 - 2 - 1 plus we will still give extra points as before.

Drivers - position - each driver will be awarded the points dependent on finishing position. 1st-25pts, 2nd-18pts, 3rd-15pts, 4th-12pts, 5th-10pts, 6th-8pts,7th-6pts,8th-4pts,9th-2pts,10th-1pt.

Constructors - position - each constructor will be awarded points in the same way as the drivers for both it's cars if they finish in the points.

Drivers & Constructors - pole position - 5 points will be awarded to the driver and to the constructor for a pole position.

Drivers & Constructors - fastest lap - 5 points will be awarded to the driver and to the constructor for the fastest official lap during the race.

Drivers & Constructors - finish - 5 points will be awarded for each driver being classified and for each car for a constructor being classified.

Best race improvement - 1 point for every place made up from qualifying to final result if you choose the driver who makes up the most places at that round.

Joker round - All points you score at this race will count double.

The results used will be the official FIA classification - www.formula1.com/results/. If a driver is replaced during the season you will be allocated the replacement driver and collect their subsequent points.

How to play:-

  • Choose 1 driver from each pool A,B,C,D & E (only 1 driver from a particular team - ie. you can't have Hamilton and Button)
  • Choose 1 constructor from each pool E,F (do NOT choose a constructor who you have chosen a driver from, with the exception of Lotus. ie. you can not have chosen Hamilton and McLaren but you can choose the Lotus team as we want everyone to have one Lotus driver as a bonus.)
  • Choose the driver you think will make up the most places from the grid to final race result - ie. start 15th place finish 9th = 6 places made up. In event of a tie the driver starting furthest back on the grid wins. You may choose any driver, irespective of if you have chosen them in one of your pools or not. Only the driver gaining the most places scores points. Example: Austrialia 2009 - Trulli went from 19th-3rd and gained 16 points.
  • Choose the race you would like as your 'joker' where ALL points scored at that race count double.

* You may only select one driver from a team and you cannot select a manufacturer if you have already chosen a driver from that team. IE.If you choose Hamilton you can not choose Button as a driver in pool B or McLaren as a constructor. The only exception to this is with Lotus, you may chose Lotus as a constructor in Pool F.
