| "Team Lotus" F1 ambitions thwarted – at least for the time being | |||||

The FIA have released the entry list for the 2010 Formula 1 World Championship, and the much talked-about new Team Lotus does not appear on the list. With the number of cars permitted to race increased to 26, three new teams have made it through. As expected, Team USF1 are there, and Campos Grand Prix were also a known, but the surprise is the entry for Manor Grand Prix. Both the latter teams will use Cosworth power. So, no Prodrive or Brabham entry. There is a proviso, however. Five existing teams – McLaren Mercedes, BMW Sauber, Renault F1, Toyota and Brawn – have at present only put in conditional entries subject to ongoing discussions with the FIA. Consequently further due diligence is currently taking place with other potential entries. So, you never know....
